As part of Palestine Awareness Week, Friends of Al-Aqsa would like to invite you to join us for an afternoon of reflection, solidarity, and action as we come together to write letters to political prisoners currently detained in UK prisons for Palestine-related activism.
📅 Date: Sunday 23 November 2025
🕒 Time: 3:00pm – 5:00pm
📍 Location: Bangor Street Community Centre, Norwich St, Blackburn, BB1 6NZ
Today, 33 political prisoners across the UK are being held simply for standing up for justice and speaking out for Palestine. Inside prison walls, they continue to face harsh restrictions, censorship, and denial of basic rights. In response, several have now begun hunger strikes to demand fair trials, immediate bail, and freedom of association, calling for justice not just for themselves, but for us all.
This session will include:
- A short introduction to the history of political prisoners in Palestine
- An overview of current political prisoners in the UK
- Letter prompts and reflections to help you write messages of hope and solidarity
Writing a letter may seem small, but to those behind bars, it is a lifeline. Your words remind them that they are seen, valued, and never forgotten.
Come and stand with those who have sacrificed their freedom for justice. Together, let’s ensure their voices continue to be heard. 🇵🇸✉️
