UK fails to support Palestinian rights at Human Rights Council

April 26, 2022 /

FOA is disappointed by the UK’s failure to support Palestinian human rights at two recent meetings of the UN Human Rights Council.

On 31st March and 1st April, the UK voted against resolutions on illegal Israeli settlements and the right of Palestinians to self-determination.

At a time when the world’s leading human rights organisations including Amnesty International and Human Rights Watch have agreed that Israel is committing the crime of apartheid against Palestinians, the UK’s failure to support these resolutions is shameful.

Our leaders must do better. Get involved with our National Lobby for Palestine on Wednesday 11th May to call for increased support for Palestine and sanctions on Israel: Click here
