I am writing to express deep concern regarding the seizure of the Freedom Flotilla and its passengers on 9 June 2025, who were attempting to deliver humanitarian aid to Gaza. This incident, involving the detention of international civilians and aid workers in international waters, constitutes a serious breach of international law and human rights.

The flotilla was on a peaceful mission to bring urgently needed humanitarian relief to a besieged population. Reports suggest that the vessel was intercepted unlawfully and that those on board were forcibly taken against their will, with little transparency regarding their well-being or legal status.

I urge you, as Foreign Secretary, to issue a strong public condemnation of this act and to call for:

1. The immediate release of all those detained;

2. The protection of humanitarian missions under international law;

3. End the siege and the ongoing genocide in Gaza;

4. An immediate stop to the UK’s arms sales and military support to Israel.

I believe it is imperative that the UK Government sends a clear message that such violations are unacceptable and will not be met with silence or complicity.
