AQSA WEEK
January 11-17, 2026
At a time when the Palestinian people are facing a genocide, Masjid Al-Aqsa serves as an important symbol of unity, heritage and resistance. Al-Aqsa is also threatened, with some Israeli groups openly calling for its destruction.
Aqsa Week is now in its 5th year. The aim of Aqsa Week is to raise awareness of the importance of the Masjid Al-Aqsa compound and spread the love for such a blessed place.
#LoveAqsa has received recognition all over the world. From picture exhibits in Gaza to call outs from South Africa, it’s clear that the love for Al Aqsa is global.
You can take part too. Whether you are a member of the public, university student, organisation, parent, teacher or Imam, you can find ways to get involved here: aqsaweek.org.uk. FOA is calling for people across the country to organise activities and events following the theme of Al-Aqsa.
Educational events could include lectures, study circles or hadith readings.
Or if you’d like to get creative, hosting exhibitions, arts and crafts sessions or competitions can be a great way to get your community involved in Aqsa Week.
Aqsa Week Kids
Aqsa Week Kids will also be happening in line with Aqsa Week. Videos will be released daily, educating children about the importance of Al-Aqsa. Worksheets will also be available for parents or educators.
