In 1969 Dennis Michael Rohan, an Australian Christian started a fire in al-Aqsa mosque. The fire had swept through some of the oldest parts of the mosque, most notably destroying the 900-year-old wood and ivory Mimbar gifted by Salahuddin Al-Ayubi (RA).
51 years from this arson attack, Al-Aqsa sanctuary continues to face even more similar threats.
