Friends of Al-Aqsa invites you to a powerful evening hearing first-hand accounts from three Palestinian women from Jerusalem about the realities of life under occupation.
Through their personal experiences and professional work within their communities, our speakers will share perspectives on life in Jerusalem, the challenges facing Palestinian women and families, and the importance of community resilience.
Dr Abeer Zayyad
A Palestinian activist, archaeologist and Jerusalem affairs expert from East Jerusalem. She is the Founder and Executive Director of Women’s Center AlThouri Silwan, supporting the resilience and empowerment of Palestinian women and families in Jerusalem. She also serves as Director of Islamic Heritage Revival at Masjid Al-Aqsa.
Alaa Abu Rmeileh
A Palestinian professional from Jerusalem and Resource Development Manager at Women’s Center AlThouri Silwan.
Sarah Fhedat
A young Palestinian professional from Jerusalem and Project Coordinator at Women’s Center AlThouri Silwan, where she works with the local community and supports projects focused on women, children and community resilience.
She holds a Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration from Al-Quds University and has participated in a range of youth, children’s rights, volunteering and community development initiatives.
