Andy Burnham has acknowledged that Labour “didn't get it right” in its approach to Gaza and apologised for the hurt caused by the party's response.

But an apology must be followed up by actions.

If Andy Burnham wants to demonstrate that his government will uphold international law, human rights and justice for the Palestinian people, his first 100 days in office should deliver meaningful change.

We are calling on Andy Burnham to take action on three urgent points within his first 100 days:

1. End support for illegal settlements

Ban government bodies and individuals from operating with companies and organisations which are based in or support illegal Israeli settlements, including settlement goods and produce.

2. Impose a full bilateral arms embargo

Implement an immediate and comprehensive bilateral arms embargo on Israel.

3. Reverse the proscription of Palestine Action

Reverse the proscription of Palestine Action and restore the right to protest .
