Educate your MP on Palestine and encourage them to take action! Just ask them to collect a briefing pack from us on Wednesday 15th May. You don’t need to come to Parliament - all you need to do is email your MP to collect a briefing pack from us so we can tell them why they must pressure the government to stop arming Israel.
The briefing pack will include information on what is happening in Gaza and why it is their responsibiility to Stop Arming Israel. Right now, Palestinians in Gaza are facing a genocide. Israel has killed over 34,000 Palestinians since October 2023, most of whom are women and children. Over 85% of the population has been forcibly displaced. The UK government help fund Israeli arms, which are used in attacks and airstrikes to kill and harm Palestinians in Gaza as well as being used in the Israeli occupation of Palestine.
Reports suggest the government’s legal advisors say Israel is in breach of international law. By failing to suspend all arms export licences, our government is actively supporting Israel’s violence and attacks on Palestinians. It is important our MPs are aware of the facts so that they can take the right and robust actions needed to pressure our government to Stop Arming Israel and to call for a permanent ceasefire in Gaza.
The general elections are this year where MPs will be voted in. We elect our MPs (Members of Parliament) to represent our interests and concerns. Email your MP to tell them you care about Palestine and would like them to collect the briefing pack that wil concentrate on Gaza, Stop Arming Israel and the on going Nakba as well as key topics on Palestine and actions MPs should take.
What does the briefing pack include?
The briefing pack comprises of key information about Israel’s illegal occupation and apartheid regime. This includes facts on how the UK government funds Israeli arms, and what those arms are used for as well as the Israeli siege of Gaza and details of the catastrophic genocide taking place there. The Briefing pack also emphasises the necessary actions for MPs.
Educating your MP is an important step in showing solidarity with Palestinians and working towards a free Palestine.
