The Event.

Masjid Al-Aqsa, one of Islam's three holy sites, has been closed since 28 February 2026. This is the longest consecutive closure by Israel since its occupation in 1967.

This closure comes amid an ongoing genocide in Gaza, unprecedented land annexation in the West Bank, seizure of administrative control of Masjid Ibrahimi in Al-Khalil (widely seen as a potential precedent for Masjid Al-Aqsa) and growing efforts by Temple Mount groups, backed by Israeli ministers, to destroy the buildings standing on Masjid Al-Aqsa.

Friends of Al-Aqsa, alongside ongoing efforts, is calling on the international community to take four practical steps to help protect Masjid Al-Aqsa.

Dates: Friday 3 April – Sunday 5 April
